Change Quidditch Rules and Regulations PLAYERSChaserEach team is required to have at least one (1) and at most three (3) players who will be CHASERS. Each CHASER is responsible for answering QUAFFLE questions. Each CHASER can only answer QUAFFLE questions addressed to their team, to score points. KeeperEach team is required to have one (1) player who will be the KEEPER. Each KEEPER is responsible for answering QUAFFLE questions. Each KEEPER can only answer QUAFFLE questions addressed to the opposing team to keep them from scoring points. BeaterEach team is allowed to have at least one (1) and at most two (2) players who will be BEATERS. Each BEATER is responsible for answering BLUDGER questions. Each correct answer that a BEATER gets will deduct points from the opposing team. SeekerEach team is required to have at least one (1) player who will be the SEEKER. Each SEEKER is responsible for answering SNITCH questions. Each SEEKER will be sent a question by the REFEREE via pm. He/She will then send back the answer, and if it is correct, the SEEKER will receive the next question, and so on. The first SEEKER to answer the required number of SNITCH questions correctly gets the Golden Snitch and is allowed to post the capture in the match thread, thus ending the game. Multiple CharactersFor people who have multiple characters that want to play Quidditch Each person will be allowed a maximum of two players ON THE SAME TEAM, IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS, AT ANY GIVEN MATCH. This means that if you already have a CHASER, your second character may only be a KEEPER, BEATER, OR SEEKER. If you happen to have a player in both teams that are competing, you can only play for one. For example, if it is Gryffindor vs. Slytherin, and one of your characters is a Gryffindor player and another is a Slytherin player, then you must choose which one you will play for. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU ALLOWED TO PLAY FOR BOTH. PENALTY WILL BE REMOVAL OF ALL THE PLAYER CHARACTERS THAT YOU HAVE FROM THE GAME.

THE MATCH
Matches will be posted at the Announcements board, as well as house common rooms the week before the match. This means the real life date and time that the first post for the match will be posted.
The Quidditch match will take place in the Quidditch Pitch board. There will be two threads, the match thread and the stands thread. Only the REFEREE and players will be allowed to post in the match thread, which will be used for the questions and answers.
The match will have a time limit of FIVE (5) REAL LIFE DAYS. If by the end of the five days, neither teams’ SEEKER has captured the Snitch, the match will still end.*
The match will consist of turn-based questions. The first question will be open to both teams’ CHASERS only, and will determine the flow of the match. Once the first question is answered by one team, the next is addressed to the other team.
Example: Quaffle in the air: What is Harry's full name? Gryffindor Chaser: Harry James Potter. Correct. 10 points for Gryffindor. Quaffle to Slytherin: Who wrote Advanced Potion Making? and so on.
The winning team’s house will be awarded house points equivalent to the number of points made in the match or 150 house points, whichever is higher.
*This eliminates the need for people to be on at the same time.
Scoring
Each QUAFFLE question is worth ten (10) points. It is only the first post after the question that counts.
If a CHASER posts the correct answer first, he/she earns his/her team 10 points.
If a KEEPER posts the correct answer first, he/she has blocked the “shot”, and no points are awarded.
If a CHASER posts an incorrect answer first, no points are awarded.
If a KEEPER posts an incorrect answer first, the “shot” has gone through, and 10 points are awarded to the opposing team.
Each BLUDGER question is worth a ten (10) point deduction.
If a BEATER posts the correct answer, 10 points are deducted from the opposing team.
If a BEATER posts an incorrect answer, no points are deducted or awarded.
The capture of the Golden Snitch (that is, answering all required SNITCH questions) earns the winning SEEKER’s team an additional 150 points.
The team with the most number of points wins.
Questions
QUAFFLE questions will cover general Harry Potter (books, movies, as well as Fantastic Beasts, Beedle the Bard) and Quidditch questions (from Quidditch Through the Ages).
BLUDGER questions will cover general Harry Potter questions (including Quidditch).
SNITCH questions will cover ANY Harry Potter questions. Sort of a grab-bag.

FOULS
Blagging – editing or deleting and reposting answers (and there are ways to check, believe me). Penalty: 10 point deduction from offending player’s team.
Matching – non-players posting in the match thread (OR any RP post by players without the answer to their respective question). Penalty: 5 point deduction from the offending person’s house. If the offender is a member of one of the competing houses in the match, a further 5 points will also be deducted from that team’s total match score.
Blurting – answering a question that has already been answered. Each question can only be answered once. Penalty: No points deducted, but only the answer posted first will be counted.
Bumphing – anyone other than a BEATER answers a BLUDGER question. Penalty: 10 points awarded to the opposing team.
Cobbing – anyone other than a KEEPER or CHASER answers a QUAFFLE question. Penalty: 10 points awarded to the opposing team.
Flacking – a KEEPER answers a QUAFFLE question that is intended for his/her team. Penalty: 5 points deducted from offending KEEPER’s team.
Haversacking – a CHASER answers a QUAFFLE question that is intended for the opposing team. Penalty: 5 points deducted from the offending CHASER’s team.
Snitchnip – a SEEKER posts in the match thread before answering all the SNITCH questions and being given the go ahead by the REFEREE. Penalty: The offending SEEKER’s team is disqualified.

OTHER RULES
Lineups
All lineups must be finalized and PM’d to the REFEREE before the match is scheduled to be posted. This does not include reserves* and must be sent by the team captain or the team’s Head of House.
Each team must have at least three (3) players to be able to compete in a match: a KEEPER, a CHASER, and a SEEKER. BEATERS are not required, but are quite useful.
No other players other than those in the lineup will be recognized in the match thread.
If someone who is not in the lineup answers a question, regardless if they are a “reserve player” for the team, this will be considered as matching (refer to “Fouls” above), and the equivalent penalty will be given.
Last minute replacements must be cleared with the REFEREE through PM. If a change in the lineup is needed, PM the REFEREE before fielding the player (allowing the player to answer a question).
*Reserves are not necessary in the match because there are no substitutions. Since the match will be open for 5 days, it is not likely that people will have to leave in the middle of it. Though not necessary in the match, reserves are nevertheless welcome in house teams.
Forfeiture
A team will forfeit the match if:
…it fails to field the required number of players: a KEEPER, a CHASER, and a SEEKER.
…it fails to PM the final lineup to the REFEREE before he/she makes the first post of the match.
…its SEEKER posts in the match thread, before capturing the Golden Snitch. (Commiting snitchnip.)
If a team forfeits:
Before the match (inability to PM the final lineup or field the required number of players), 50 house points will be awarded to the opposing team.
During the match (for snitchnipping), 150 house points will be awarded to the opposing team.
Draws
If no one posts an answer within two days of the first question, the match will be a draw and will have to be rescheduled.
If a QUAFFLE question is left unanswered by either a CHASER or a KEEPER after two days, the match will be a draw and will have to be rescheduled.
The Spectators
The COMMENTATOR will start the stands thread and will be announcing the match.
Spectators will be able to post in the stands thread and cheer their team on, have side RPs, and such.
Players may also post in the stands thread for RP purposes.
This helps keep the match thread clear of RP posts and allows the spectators to go wild in their own way.
The COMMENTATOR will report what is happening in the match in RP terms, much as Lee Jordan did in the books. Applications for the Quidditch Commentator can be sent to the Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster.

Role-Playing Rules
Before the Match
When the Referee starts the thread, you have 24 HOURS to Role-Play your character arriving at the Pitch, Getting Ready, Pep Talks, etc. If you do not post a Role-Play, then it will be assumed that you did not arrive, so make sure you post!
The Match
After the initial 24 hours, the Referee will make a post, in which they release the balls. Then the first question for the chasers is posted, as I have stated before. After that, the match will continue on based on the rules posted before. After the referee says whether the answer is correct or not, you will role-play your character carrying out the action. Scores will be tallied up after the match. SEEKERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO POST YET
The Snitch is Spotted!
After 24 hours, the Seekers are allowed to post. The questions will be asked, and so on. The first seeker to answer the question correctly MUST Role-Play their character catching the snitch, or else they cannot catch the snitch. Once the snitch is caught, the game is over and the seekers team will be awarded 150 point.
After the Match
After the snitch is caught, the referee will make a post stating the final points and what team won. You then have 24 hours to role-play freely after the match. After the match, AND ONLY AFTER THE MATCH, non-players are allowed to post in the match thread. After the 24 hours is up, the thread will be locked.
